We are looking for a qualified lawyer who has completed legal professionals to join our policy and planning team as Advisor Policy and Legal.This position provides both policy and legal advice on a range of issues relating to the work undertaken by Veterans' Affairs New Zealand. You must enjoy working as part of a team, yet be able to work without supervision. It is essential that you have well developed relationship management skills, possess excellent communication, administration and organisational skills and have the ability to manage workload effectively to ensure required timeframes and outcomes are met.

Veterans have a special place in the hearts and minds of many New Zealanders.For those who did not return, Veterans' Affairs New Zealand (VANZ) coordinates commemorative activity of military significance, both nationally and internationally. For those that did return, VANZ manages government's relationship with veterans and their representative organisations, case manages veterans and their families, processes War Disablement Pensions and provides ex-service memorials and administers government interests in 182 Services Cemeteries. The age and profile of our veterans is changing, as is the nature and cause of their disabilities or needs.

This is a permanent full-time position based in our Wellington office.
